  • Days Like This

I have ovarian cancer.  I'm struggling through a recurrence right now after ten months in remission.  I'm really close to being done with treatment - again - but it's been much harder this time.  Through it all, I have a couple of techniques that I use.  One is my "mantra." Whenever things get really hard or really painful, I just chant to myself "Jesus is healing me.  Jesus is healing me.  Jesus is healing me." It always helps, and it always brings me perspective.

The other is my "motto" - Any Day Above Ground is a Good Day.  I want to go to heaven...but not yet!  So I constantly try to be as normal as possible and do normal stuff.  Because truthfully, one of the things that Satan tried to do with cancer is convince you that you are sick and you should just give up.  And God and I aren't having any of THAT one!

So - today is a great day, no matter what!  God is good, all the time.

Thank you for such a beautiful entry.  Your faith and positive attitude is such an encouragement and a testament of who our God is.  God is certainly good and it shows in you.  Thank you for sharing.

Wow!!! Thank you very much and from a younger perspective it is good to see that kind of faith even in the worst of times. It is also inspiring because I have five tumors, three on my right leg, and two on my left arm. My doctor believes they are benign, and I sure hope and pray that they are. So thank you for this entry because you are definately a good example of faith and it is truly inspiring to see!

    *hugs*

I just wanted to stop by and give you a hug.

I also wanted to say a prayer for you if I may.

Heavenly Father, I lift this dear one up to you and ask that you will continue to be her strength, her peace and her strong tower at this time.  Thank you Lord that even now she is witnessing for you amidst her cancer.  Lord I ask that you will gift her with your grace during this time and just love on her.  Father God I thank you for her willingness to serve you and bring glory to your name.  Bless her I pray and make her days here filled with things that bring you joy.  Send people her way that she can encourage and be encouraged by.

    Thank you for her.

    Bless her Lord I ask

    In Jesus Name

    Amen

I have a friend, a fellow mother of 5, who has just had her second round of Chemo for Breast Cancer.....

I just wanted you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers
